MERCIER WOOD FLOORING
In the 1980 Marcel Mercier the founder of the Mercier brand was a cabinet-maker and innovator who found it odd that the flooring installers of that time would endure the inconvenience and inconsistencies of sanding and finishing their products onsite while all of his cabinets were finished before being brought to the job site. Mercier started out as a finishing company for other local flooring mills in the Quebec region of Canada and prides themselves on their ability to has the greatest finish on the hardwood flooring market.
Mercier Wood Floors have a special soybean finish which is zero-VOC and awarded the highest level of Green Guard and LEED certification. This special soy-based finish is not only environmentally friendly, but it also scores 1200 rotations on the abrasion test making it the highest available. The secret to their finish is the gradual introduction of higher grams of aluminum oxide per square meter infused into the wood’s many layers.
In 2018 Unique Wood Floors became a Mercier dealer. In 2019 Unique Wood Floors attended a mill tour which further strengthened our sales staff’s knowledge of this product line and gave them the confidence knowing these floors produced with the highest level of sustainability and quality material.
