Before the appointment, your project manager reviews available information about the age and construction of the property. This may include whether the project is in a single-family home, high-rise building or slab-on-grade property.
Understanding the construction type helps us anticipate likely subfloor conditions before arriving at the jobsite. During the appointment, we check the subfloor for flatness and take moisture-content readings of hardwood or wood subfloors when applicable.

- Remove or protect furniture, draperies, artwork, valuables and personal items.
- Discuss furniture moving and special arrangements with your project manager.
- Maintain normal living temperature and humidity during acclimation.
- Review demolition, appliance, plumbing, trim and access requirements before work begins.
During Installation
- Expect noise, traffic and some dust inside the work area.
- Have an authorized representative available at the beginning of the project.
- Project timing may vary based on flooring type, pattern and subfloor preparation.
- Complete a final walkthrough with the installer or project manager.
After Installation
- Follow the flooring manufacturer’s cleaning and care instructions.
- Use felt pads under furniture and protective mats in high-traffic areas.
- Maintain appropriate indoor relative humidity throughout the year.
- Expect natural variation in the color, grain and character of real wood.
